Students can be in multiple groups but they can only be in one class. For this reason, classes should be generic by grade or by homeroom (i.e. Grade 7A, Grade 8B, Grade 9, etc.).  Groups can be used by individual teachers to distribute assignments only to the students they are teaching.

To create a group, go to the teacher site of Binogi.ca and select the "Groups" tab:

Click "Add a group".

Then, follow the prompts. First, you will need to name your group. Next, you can add students. Adding students to groups can be done by searching for individual students or by selecting students from an existing class.

If you are adding students from an existing class, but not all of the students should be in the group, you can delete students who should not be part of the group by clicking on the x.

Then, you need to decide if the group is Private (visible only to you) or Public (visible to other teachers at your school). Please note: after the group is created, you cannot change the visibility.

The final step if to click "Add group".

Now, you are ready to create an assignment for the students in your group.
